PREMIUM GAME FAQ

FAQ for the Ruby Palace, Sapphire Palace and Emerald Palace. For the Palace of Destiny FAQ, please click here.

HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN PLAY?
There is no maximum to the number of people you can sign up! However, we do recommend breaking up your group into teams of 3-4 players.

For example, you could book for a group of 8, and break up into 2 teams of 4, or you could book for a group of 800 and break up into 200 teams of 4. Access to the GAP (Game Administrator Portal) comes with your Virtual Escape Palace purchase, making it easy to manage a large group.

Minimum of 2 players required for purchase.

HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN BE ON ONE TEAM?
For the best experience, we recommend teams of 3-5 players (ideally 4!), but it is up to you. You are welcome to play as a team of 2 or 6 players, but the experience may not be as good. You may not exceed 6 players per team.

For Sapphire Palace, we strongly recommend playing with a team of 4 players. Every player should use their own device if possible.

Please note you will need at least 2 players for the game.

CAN WE ALL PLAY ON ONE DEVICE?
No – some puzzles will require players to be in different places at the same time. Each player will be able to explore and click around from their own screen. This can be helpful and sometimes essential for game play!

You will need at least 2 devices per team for the Ruby Palace, but we recommend letting each player use their own device if possible.

For the Sapphire Palace we strongly encourage every player to use their own device.

WHAT TYPE OF DEVICE SHOULD WE USE TO PLAY?
We strongly recommend playing from a computer if possible.

HOW DO WE GET TO THE GAME?
Once the players are added and teams are assigned, the Organizer or the Team Captain will be able to send an email with a play invitation link to the players. This email will include the video chat link (if one was added) and a game URL unique to each team. The Organizer or Team Captain can access their team's game link in the GAP to share with other players if they cannot find their invite email.

The team game link will take every player on the team to the same page. Each player simply selects their name to "log in" to the game. When they click their name, they will be sent to the game lobby where they can wait for their fellow players before entering the game. The games will be linked, but each player will have their own view.

All teams will need to use a video chat for their game. As this is not provided by the PALACESPHERE, players may choose whichever video conferencing solution they prefer.

HOW DO PLAYERS COLLABORATE?
Each player will have their own view of the game, but they will all be linked. If one player enters the correct password, it will unlock the door for the entire team.

Teams will need to communicate via video conference to communicate in real time. There is not a built in chat or video function in the Palace, so teams may choose whichever service they prefer. There is a handy place in the Game Administration Portal to include a video chat link. That way, the chat link will be in the same email as the play link!

DO WE HAVE TO PLAY AT OUR SCHEDULED START TIME?
No. As long as you have your game link, you can start the game at any time.
*Please note you must set a start time in the GAP to generate the game link.*
